Apprenticeship Meeting
Attention all Apprentices:
BACU Local 1 Apprenticeship Committee is inviting you to attend an Apprenticeship Meeting Saturday, November 9, 2024, in our Union Hall, 360 James Street North from 9am to 11am. This meeting is to introduce our Apprentices to each other, members of our Executive Board who make up the Local Apprenticeship Committee (LAC) and a presentation by Brandon Eyre, our new Financial Consultant.
Our office, Executive Board (LAC) and Welfare Trustees are working to create a progressive and positive culture for our Journeypersons and Apprentices. HEALTH and WEALTH are what this Union strives to provide our membership from your first day of work to your retirement and beyond. Our trade is extremely hard on our bodies. Physical health and mental health go hand in hand in our success as a Brick, Stone and Refractory Mason. Equally important is our financial health.
When we need professional advice, we seek it from an expert such as a lawyer, doctor or mechanic. At our meeting on Saturday November 9, our Financial Consultant, Brandon Eyre, will address what steps you NEED to take, as an Apprentice, to better understand what your financial health should look like. This professional financial advice is specifically tailored to Apprentices to help you have a better understanding of how our Union can help you succeed in your career.
I have taken the time since I came into office, to meet and speak to each of you. I do not ask a lot of you outside of work. I am asking you to attend this meeting so we can have future meetings and seminars with all of our Sisters and Brothers that we can look for ways to improve our Health and Wealth individually and as a whole. Your input is vital to our Union’s future. You are the future!
Out of respect, please confirm you are or are not attending by emailing or calling Alicia at the Union Hall at 905-527-8418 between 8:00am to 2:00pm or call or text me on my cell at 905-517-0884.
In solidarity,
Dave Martin
